This is a very nice quality electric guitar with very nice craftmenship, finish, and sound. Has a tremolo bridge. Nice variation in sound between different pickup combinations and tones. An excellent guitar for kids or for travel.

I purchased this guitar for my 6 year old son as his first "real" guitar after having used a 1/4 sized guitar with a built in speaker for the past year. This was the perfect next guitar for my son and it has all the features of a real Strat. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this instrument! Completely playable - this should not be considered a toy guitar - it is the real thing. The neck was straight and the frets were even and spaced correctly. Intonation needed some fine tuning but was better than I would expect for a guitar at this price. The finish on this guitar was remarkable for the price - flawless as far as I could tell. As for the feel of the guitar, it was easily playable and stayed in tune while playing. My son wanted a guitar "with a bar" and this one has it...and even with a good deal of tremolo use, the guitar managed to stay in tune. The electronics functioned as expected and sounded great through my amp - no scratchy pots or cheap feeling switches. Quality cords plug snugly into the 1/4" output jack. I have tried other similar sized guitars in the big guitar stores and this one exceeds the quality of all of those comparable models in my opinion - even the "name brand" ones. This guitar is a bargain for the price paid - and combined with the free shipping, you aren't going to beat this deal for a top quality 1/2 size guitar. Highly recommended! I am sure that this guitar will give me many years of pleasure. However, I am spending approx. $75 to get a proper "set-up" (intonation, neck straightening and action brought down). I am also replacing the strings with slightly heavier ones as the strings that came on the guitar were too light and a bit jangly. |
